Entryway Wall Color Ideas?

First impressions are everything especially when it comes to your home. You want everyone who walks into to your house to feel welcomed and at home. I don’t know about you but the first thing I needed to work on was the entryway because that’s the first thing you see when you walk in my house.

I love the idea of walking into a pop of color or a bold wallpaper! If you are looking for a bolder entryway, check out my Pinterest account! I have great examples for you! My plan for my house is to have every room full of color. That is why my goal for the entryway is to be more sublet and peaceful.

Okay, so dream entryway … black and white with gold accents. My whole house has chair rails in pretty much every room which helps me envision lots of dual color schemes and who doesn’t love a monochrome moment.

The Process

A little after dinner one night, I got this urge like girl you need to start painting! So, I headed to my nearest Walmart at like 9pm and got black paint. You know when you go to target for one thing and leave with 50. That’s how I am at Walmart! I went for black paint and left with way more than that. I won’t spoil anything though😉

Paint Colors

The paint colors I used were Studio Color Black and Studio Color White.

Painting is the easy part for me, prepping the room is the part that I dread the most. But you always have to start there because in the long run you will regret it if you don’t. I always use FrogTape masking tape. I have come to learn that it works the best for me. I only prepped the bottom half the walls where I was going to use the black paint because my ceilings and chair rails are already white, so I wasn’t worried about getting a little white paint anywhere.

Use me as an example and do not do what I did LOL I did not put a drop cloth down first before i started painting and needless to say I regret that decision. I have little paint particles all over my floor now. I am going to redo my floors in the entryway soon but not for a couple of months, so I do regret not using a drop cloth now.

Now since the painting is done, we are ready for the fun part! Decorating
